Mindset and wellbeing coaching meets you where you are at in your councillor journey.

It recognises that you are unique in your leadership. Your previous life and career experience all contribute to the unique skills and knowledge that your community has recognised in you.

We have three different levels of coaching support to match your needs - laser focus, lift-off and elevate.

You can also get to the bottom of your challenge with an intensive one to one coaching session that supports you to gain clarity and identify an action plan based on your needs.

Laser focus

For councillors who want to top up and hone in on a specific area of their leadership performance. This package is suited to councillors who feel they are managing the juggle and still desire that ‘bit extra’ to elevate their impact.

Lift-off

For councillors who want to boost their knowledge or skills with a trusted and impartial sounding board. This package is suited to councillors who feel the pressure mounting and want to take a proactive approach to enhance their competency and capability.

Elevate

For councillors who want to deepen their impact with a trusted sounding board. This package is suited to councillors who feel pulled in all directions or may be grappling with the responsibilities of the role, and are looking for an accountability partner over the longer term.

The coaching process

Phase 1
Self-reflection

Use the self-reflection exercises to build your awarness and to assess where you would like to be by the end of the coaching support. This is a crucial first step to the process.

Phase 2
Co-design 

Debrief on your goals and identify your most desired learning areas with your coach. Your action plan will identify growth areas to successfully transform knowledge gaps into leadership assets.

Phase 3
Growth & impact

Online coaching sessions to take you from where you are now to where you want to be. Fully serve your community with informed decision-making and
competent communication with your community.

Your coach

Anna is our resident mindset and political wellbeing coach. Anna has a deep understanding of the impact of stress on the mind and body and loves to share both the science and the art of being mentally fit.

As an accredited exercise physiologist, mindset coach and yoga therapist, with a strong background in entrepreneurship and small business, Anna brings a wealth of knowledge to Locale Learning.

Since joining the Locale team in 2021, Anna has tailored her mindset & wellbeing coaching to help local government leaders build the mindset and self-care practices they need to support their brilliance. Anna’s professional mission is to educate on the power of self-leadership for better community leadership.

Councillor Z, a first-term representative in a regional council, quickly became overwhelmed by the demands of the role. Balancing council duties, work committments and family responsibilities, they struggled to maintain a healthy work-life balance, leading to stress, burnout, and self-doubt.

Councillor Z engaged in one-on-one mindset and wellbeing coaching to address these issues. This focused on stress management techniques, emotional resilience and boundary setting to prioritise self-care.

Who is suited to mindset & wellbeing coaching?

Motivated councillors wanting targeted learning support for their unique professional development. Our coaching packages are available to new and returning councillors.

Is this a confidential experience?

Yes it is. We do not disclose any information discussed in the coaching sessions.

What is the delivery method?

Coaching is generally delivered via live virtual (Zoom or Teams) calls. Additional learning resources and content may be delivered via pre-recorded videos and reading materials. None of the content is dry and all of it is useful.

Will I have access to my coach?

Yes you will! You will directly work with Anna Miley. 

How much does this cost?

The price depends upon the intensity of the coaching support. Please contact us at contact@localelearning.com.au for prices.

Does coaching contribute to my professional development?

Yes. Our coaching programs can be reported in your professional development obligations as required by the Office of Local Government NSW.

Who pays for the coaching?

Councillors may be able to access a professional development budget through their council. You are also able to purchase our coaching packages personally.
